About Northwood Community
Sports Centre

Northwood Community Sports (NCS) provides facilities for a range of indoor and outdoor sports, including track and field athletics, football, netball, basketball and racket sports at Northwood Stadium in Stoke-on-Trent as a well-equipped gym. NCS aims to encourage participation in sport and leisure activities by all sections of the community in Stoke-on-Trent and North Staffordshire as part of an active and healthy lifestyle.

NCS manages the facilities at Northwood on behalf of City of Stoke Athletics and Community Sports (CoSACS). CoSACS is a registered charity. CoSACS has control of Northwood under the terms of a 40 year lease granted by Stoke-on-Trent City Council. The Stadium and its facilities are operated on a not-for-profit basis. All the income generated by charging for their use goes towards maintaining and developing them to the highest possible standard.

Northwood Stadium is best known as the home of City of Stoke Athletic Club. Over the years, athletes from the Club have represented England and Great Britain with distinction at many international championships, including the Olympic Games. We want to see the benefits of participation not just in athletics but in many other sports extend way beyond this small number of world-class athletes to people of all abilities and all backgrounds.

An eight-lane running track and grandstand capable of staging local, regional and national events in track and field athletics
Grass and flexibly configurable 3G synthetic turf pitches for football and other sports
A large sports barn for indoor activities such as netball, basketball, tennis and badminton
A gym offering classes and access for individual users to train in their own time
Easily accessible on-site parking combined with excellent public transport links
